Placement Cell
Objectives
- Create awareness among students regarding available career options and help them in identifying their career objectives.
- Guide the students in developing skills and job-search strategies required to achieve their career objectives.
- Organize activities concerning career planning.
- Provide employment opportunities and professional training to the students.
- Guide the students in developing skills and job-search strategies required to achieve their career objectives.
- Take feedback from industry and provide inputs for curriculum.
- Act as a bridge between students, alumni and employers.
Placement Rules and Regulations
- Students are informed to come well-dressed i.e in formal dress on the day of interview.
- For smooth operations we categorize the companies coming for placement in 3 (Three) categories.
Category A: Companies providing pay package >= 6 lakh P.A
Category B: Companies providing pay package >= 2.5 lakhs < 6 lakh P.A
Category C: Companies providing pay package < 2.5 lakhs P.A - If a student is selected in category A company, he/she can not appear in interview of category B or C companies.
- If a student is selected in category B company, he/she can appear in interview of category A, but cannot appear in interview of category C company.
- If a student is selected in category C company, then he/she can appear in interview of category B and category A companies.
- Students found in any malpractice during written test or interview will not be allowed to appear for any interview.
- If a student wants to go for higher studies and is not interested for a particular job, he/she should not register for placement. If it happens, then no recommendation letter for higher studies will be provided to that student.
- Student placement coordinators are informed to display newspaper advertisement or job/recruitment related E-mails whichever is applicable through department faculty placement coordinator on department notice board or in group E-mail IDs of students.
- Department faculty placement coordinators have to send soft copies/scanned copies of such advertisement/mails to tpo e-mail id :tpo@gecg28.ac.in for further communication whenever required.
- Eligibility criteria for placement are decided by a particular company, so all students will have to follow it as per the instructions given. Students who do not register for a particular placement drive will be treated as not interested and will not be allowed to attend placement drive/recruitment process. Registration for placement is not compulsory.
- All notices related to placement will be published on placement notice board and/or department notice board and/or on registered email ID of student only. All students are required to visit the same regularly for the updates.

Cell Activities :
Mr. Sagar Patel from ERFOLG Counseling Services LLP, Ahmedabad conducted this webinar on “Free Higher Education in Germany” for students of our institute who were interested in higher studies at abroad. Dr. Dhaval Parikh, Head CE/IT, GEC, Gandhinagar also Joined to motivate participants and thank the speaker. The webinar lasted for about one hour and informed students about various opportunities that lie ahead for students to study in Germany.

Placement fair was organized during 18th and 19th March, 2021 at GTU and VGEC Campus.

Various topics such as Information about placement fair to be conducted by Govt. of Gujarat, Placement opportunities in Placement Fair, Various types of companies in Placement Fair, Brief idea about range of pay packages, Tips for interview, Dos and Don’ts for interview were covered in webinar.

The webinar was organised for Semester-4 IC Students to enhance their soft skills since soft skill is an important aspect in their societal interactions and building their successful career. In the webinar students were taught about components and basic aspects of Soft skills. Soft skills are used every day at work and developing these soft skills will help you win more business and accelerate your career progression.

The expert talk for final year and pre final year I.C. Students dated 30-07-2019.The students were briefed about opportunities for engineering graduates after the completions of their course. Also they were guided about UPSC/GPSC examinations preparations. A mock test was also conducted by the team.
